A Guided Tasting: The Wines of Oregon
We think you’re really going to like our next wine tasting event: it’s all about Oregon. Oregon is most famous for its pinot noir, but there’s so much more to celebrate about the state’s wines. Join us on Monday, September 18th at 6:00pm to learn more about what else makes Oregon wines so special.
Leading this guided tasting are Joerg Klauck, one of the founding partners of Vermont Wine Merchants, and Jack Garvin, former General Manager of the Warren Store. (And we’re delighted that Jack has joined us at The Local, in the shop and as an occasional host of one of our free weekly tastings.)
Oregon’s cool climate, along with a range of elevations and soil compositions, has allowed producers to make incredibly diverse styles of wine. And in keeping with this is Joerg and Jack’s philosophy of thinking – and drinking! – outside the box. During the tasting, the two will discuss the emergence of new wine makers & techniques, new blends, the rise varietals other than pinot noir, and the women winemakers who are spearheading the new wave.
It's going to be fun evening – join us!
