A sparkling "pet nat" red wine made with Verona & Frontenac Gris here in Vermont.
Camila says, "Alma Gemela is a sparkling red wine made in a Petillant Naturel style. It is composed of 90% Verona from an organic vineyard in Perkinsville, Vermont and 10% Frontenac Gris from one of the La Garagista vineyards in Vergennes, Vermont, that is farmed by using Biodynamic and Organic farming practices.
This Verona was picked on the 21st of September and sat whole cluster in a macro bin for 4 days. It was then destemmed, footcrushed, and pressed on September 25th. The Frontenac Gris was harvested in early-mid September and was destemmed, foot crushed, and fermented on the skins a couple of days before pressing. Both fermented separately until blended and was then bottled on October 6th at 2 brix and finished fermentation in the bottle. This wine has been disgorged. The finished result is a dark-colored creamy bubbly wine with notes of a wild berry cobbler, bright acidity, and red apple skin. Super refreshing!"
