45% Tempranillo, 45% Garnacha, & 10% Cabernet Sauvignon from Catalonia, Spain. Organic.
From the ever-expanding portfolio of Domaine Bousquet in Argentina comes Danaus, located in the Costers del Segre in the Lleida province of Catalina in northeast Spain.
A blend of 45% Tempranillo, 45% Garnacha, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine goes through a cold maceration before a 15 day fermentation and aged 4 months in oak. That little dollop of Cabernet really adds depth and character!
Soft and savory, with aromas of cranberry, plum, and red currants, the flavor profile shifts with notes of oak, balsamic, and earthy notes.
Danaus comes from the scientific name for the monarch butterfly, Danaus Plexippus. The Greek interpretation of Danaus is "a sleepy transformation."
