Winemakers at Forge have what they call “The Handshake of Mother Nature.” They believe that despite whatever is thrown at them during each and every growing season the wine should ultimately be the best they can produce, be reflective of that growing season, and transport you to its terroir. There are huge deposits of salt below Senaca Lake and some of it is still mined but this key geological reserve is critical to the interpretation of Reisling in this area in upstate New York.

The wine is illuminated and vibrant, fermented bone dry with that saline presence threading throughout. The aromatics of the wine is truly the gateway to the landscape where Riesling’s regional devotion is crafted. The vibrant minerality plays a bit of cat and mouse with all of the floral aromatics and flavors of peach, pear, rose, and lilies!
