65% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Malvasia Nera from the southern Tuscan coast. This is an IGT wine that goes well beyond DOCG quality, and is considered a "Super Tuscan" because of the addition of Cabernet Sauvignon. Montepeloso farms organically and uses some biodynamic methods as well. French barriques are used during ferementation and it is further barrel aged for 18 months, and bottle aged for 12 months prior to release. This creates a powerful yet well integrated wine that is ready to drink or could be aged for years to come.
