Mark your calendars for Monday, January 22nd , when we’ll be hosting a first-ever event that combines book readings, storytelling, and wine tasting. Mad River Valley resident and author, Kathy Elkind, will treat our guests to stories from her 98-day, 1400-mile hike from the Netherlands to Nice, France. And Sarah Nagle of The Local will offer up five wines that follow Kathy’s footsteps through the French portion of the trek.

It will be a truly unique evening, and we invite you to embark on this journey with us. We’ll have some great food on the table, as always, and guests will have the opportunity to purchase Kathy’s book, To Walk It Is to See It, in which Kathy describes her experiences throughout this impressive walk.

Kathy Elkind is a long-distance walker, writer, and eater. She has walked the GR5, the
