100% Zweigelt from Kamptal in Niederosterreich, Austria.
Schloss Gobelsburg, once a Cistercian monastic estate, is one of the oldest wineries in the Danube region with a documented history going back to 1171. The steep sloped vineyards are located along the Kamp River near the towns of Langenlois - the hometown of Dr. Zweigelt!-and Gobelsburg.
Over the last several decades Zweigelt has begun to develop a strong identity in Austria largely due to the winemaking wizardry at Schloss Gobelsburg.
Being genetically associated to Pinot Noir the wine has signature ruby color with hints of plums and cherries and spicy notes. Firm, hearty, and uncomplicated, Zweigelt is destined to be Austria’s new star!
