Martin Mitteback is the 6th generation of his family to own and run Tegernseerhof in the prestigious Wachau region. The steep terraced vineyard history goes back to 1002! The winery has been a benchmark in winemaking and is a member of the Vinea Wachau Association so their vinification process adheres to the strict guidelines of Codex Wachau.

Zweigelt was developed by Dr. Zweigelt in Langenlois in 1922 as a fusion of Blaufrankisch and St Laurent. St Laurent is genetically related to Pinot Noir so Zweigelt has inherited many of the traits of Pinot Noir. In the hands of Martin Mitteback he has created a charming rose treating the juice in stainless steel with cool temperatures to extract its fresh red fruits. The wine bursts with cherry, red currants, watermelon, and savory herb notes.
