100% Castelão from Alentejo, Portugal.

This wine comes from a single vineyard of 35-year old Castelao vines.  A annual collaborative effort with Dirk Niepoort to try to make a Burgundy style red in Alentejo, this wine emphasizes the freshness made possible by Portalegre's high elevation and granite soils.  Aged for 12 months in used French oak.
