55% Sauvingnon Gris, 35% Sauvingnon Blanc, and a touch of Muscadelle all from 70 year old vines.
Bergerac, France - Chateau Lestignac is a family domaine first started in 1617 then reborn in 2009 when Mathias Marquet and his wife Camile made their own wines rather than selling grapes to negotiants as the previous few generations had. This young couple are inspired by nature and the environment, farming their 30 acres of vines organically and biodynamically with an aim to improving life in the soil and the region. Work in the cellar is equally natural: only indigenous yeasts for fermentation and no additives at all other than a minimal use of sulfur as needed.
