A Master Sommelier is coming to Middlesex!
We’re so thrilled to be able to host this incredible event in The Tasting Room! There are only 273 master sommeliers in the world, & one of them is coming here to lead a class on May 1st. David Keck, MS, of Stella14 Wines is as excited as we are to welcome you all into The Tasting Room & lead you all through an exploration of the wines that inspired him to create one of our bestselling wines, Birches! And, yes, there will be light refreshments to go along with the wines!
So what is a Master Sommelier? These are the people who can blind taste a glass & tell you the grape varietal, the area it was grown, & the year it was produced. They create wine lists & work at the top restaurants in the world. They also judge wine competitions & teach sommelier classes. David has done all of these things in the past, oh, & he’s a Juilliard trained opera singer too.
Are you also picturing someone dressed in a tuxedo & wearing a monocle? Don’t worry, that’s not David at all! He grew up here in Vermont & moved back here in 2020 to found Stella14 in Cambridge, VT with his partner, Lauren Droege. Like all the best Vermonters, he’s hardworking but humble, a natural storyteller, & always eager to share his passions with others!
At this special event, David will take everyone through a tasting of five different wines that inspired him to create Birches. As you taste through the wines, you’ll learn about the concept of ‘vin de soif,” which are bright, light, high-acid red wines that both delight & refresh! Sounds great to me!
We have had such a great time getting to know David since we opened up our doors. And now we can’t wait for you all to get to know him too! Grab your ticket today & we’ll see you on the first of May!
