100% Vermentino from Tuscany, Italy. Biodynamic.
We’ve been featuring Vermentino a lot lately and for good reason. This light-bodied, tangy, briny, and complex wine is considered by many oenophiles to be the next marquee wine.
The winery is located between Pisa and Volteria in Tuscany and Nicola Cantini, the winemaker, produces a variety of wines made from vines aged 20-100 years old. The Vermentino is hand harvested in early September during the cooler hours of the day, soft-pressed and cooled down. The wine is aged for 6 months in concrete tanks and 6 months in the bottle.
The nose radiates like a Simon and Garfunkel song with aromas of jasmine, lavender, bee balm, and thyme!
Over the years a spring on the property has been a destination for people with health issues making a pilgrimage for a healing miracle given its high mineral and nutrient content!
