100% Chenin Blanc from the Loire Valley, France.

Catherine and Didier Champalou are regarded by many as making the finest sparkling wine in France outside of Champagne. The wine is 100% Chenin Blanc from the Vouvray appellation in the Loire and a blend of three different vintages for this cuvée. The superb clay and limestone soils of their vineyards produce a high quality Chenin Blanc that delivers a creamy richness along with big minerality. The bottles are aged sur lees for two years before disgorgement applying Methode Champenoise.

Chenin Blanc ages very well but my suspicion is that this will not be a bottle that will hide in the back of the refrigerator for a long time waiting for a reason to drink it!
